The anticipated launch of .osaka is finally here. From today, businesses that have a valid trademark registered in the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) (text link: http://www.trademark-clearinghouse.com/) can now register custom .osaka domain names. This period is known as the “Sunrise Period” and is exclusively for rights holders to ensure they have first rights to names that they have trademarked.
Domains will be allocated on a first come, first served basis from the 9th of February 2015 15:00 UTC to the 11th of March 2015 15:00 UTC.
The general public will have a chance to begin registering domains under .osaka starting from the 19th of March 2015 in the Landrush Period (high quality names will be available and thus this period carries a higher registration price). This will be followed by the General Availability phase starting on the 1st of April.
All phases are first come, first served so make sure you get your submission in early to get the name you want!
